Among our most exciting technologies is exclusive Hamm Oscillation compaction. Unlike traditional vibratory compactors that achieve compaction by "bouncing" the drum on the ground, Hamm's unique Oscillation technology ensures that the roller drums maintain constant contact with the ground for faster, more effective compaction.
Unique, nonaggressive Oscillation compaction is available in North America via the Hamm HD O120V, HD O90V, and HD O70V oscillatory/vibratory rollers, and the Hamm 3412 VIO soil compactor, in which the single drum offers both Oscillation and conventional compaction.

In North America, today's Hamm is a lot different than the Hamm known prior to 2000. That's because in March 2000, Wirtgen GmbH of Germany acquired Hamm AG, and Hamm became is part of of the Wirtgen Group, a global construction equipment enterprise. Today, Wirtgen America, Inc. is the North American arm of the Wirtgen Group, the single-source marketer of the world's most technologically advanced lines of asphalt reclaiming and recycling equipment from Wirtgen, asphalt and soil compactors from Hamm Compaction Division, and asphalt pavers from Vögele America Inc.
In Tirschenreuth, Hamm just completed a manufacturing expansion in which three new HD series production lines covering 21,500 sq. ft. were installed and put in operation in January 2006, bringing Hamm up to seven production lines. The plant is being further expanded with a high-performance, 17,222 sq. ft. product logistics and shipping center. Begun in May, the new structure is designed for the shipment of up to 7,000 machines per year. We are very close to becoming the No. 3 supplier of asphalt and soil compactors in the world.
